Village in the Brebant is an original oil on panel painting by Belgian artist Maurice de Meyer (also known as Maurice de Mayer). De Meyer was a well known Impressionist painter who worked with Alfred Bastien and Henri Logelain, also members of the Belgian school. The painting shows a village scene with a village church on an overcast day. Brebant is a region around Brussels and is now divided into more than one province. The artists signature appears in red in the lower right. Image size is 26 inches H x 23 inches W (66 cm x 58.4 cm). Professionally cleaned and conserved, with minor inpainting done to replace a few missing paint specs. Reversable materials and technique used. Mounted in a new, antiqued, rustic looking framed. Framed size is 30 inches H x 28 inches W (119 cm x 76 cm). COA.
